In this article, the authors review current military tactics of the Humankind Empire of Abh and the Four Nations Alliance (later, Three Nations Alliance) in the War regarding the encounter between Assault ships and Patrol ships.

Analysis[edit | edit source]

The encounter between two of the most used ship types is naturally the most occurring situation. Patrol ships are usually as much as fifty times more powerful than assault ships. Their weaponry includes Electromagnetic Projection Cannon, particle cannons, laser turrets, and Mobile Mines. On the other side assault ships have invariably less armor and shields. Most assault ships only have one Anti-proton cannon and one or more laser turrets. However, assault ships are much smaller, and therefore, much more nimble. Due to the differences in power an engagement between Assault ships and Patrol ships often is fought out by a group of assault ships and one patrol ship.

Tactics of the Abh[edit | edit source]

Assault ship tactic[edit | edit source]

The standard Abh tactic is to use assault ships like the Roil-Class or the Galum-Class against an enemy patrol ship. The assault ships usually engage in groups while pursuing in single bubble. When an enemy patrol ship is caught they encircle it in a determined pattern and at a predetermined position from which it is being bombarded. To avoid the superior weaponry of the patrol ship the assault ship keep encircling it.

Patrol ship tactic[edit | edit source]

The standard tactic for a patrol ship is to face the closes assault ship first and to fire it's Electromagnetic Projection Cannon timely as soon as the merging occurs. Then the ship will turn and engage the next assault ship.

Tactics of the Alliance[edit | edit source]

Assault ship tactic[edit | edit source]

The standard United Mankind tactic is to use assault ships against an enemy patrol ship. The United Mankind assault ship usually have a lot more weaponry than comparable Abh assault ships. Aside from more standard weapons for this type of ship they also carry up to four Antimatter Missiles.

The assault ships usually engage in groups while pursuing in single bubble. When an enemy patrol ship is caught they encircle it in a determined pattern and at a predetermined position from which they enter the patrol ship's bubble. This timed entering is designed to prevents the patrol ship from being able to engage all of the assault ships. Upon entry the United Mankind assault ships fire their fusion missile. To avoid the superior weaponry of the patrol ship the assault ship keep encircling it.
