The Spaceflight capability scale serves to differentiate the spaceflight related cabability of a ship or the civilization. It is determined by technological advancement and the understanding of orbital mechanics and celestial mechanics as well as physics and astrophysics. This influences greatly the nature of ship design, handling, and their applications. This impacts tactical and strategic military thinking.

  1. littoral
    1. sub-orbital
    2. point-to-point
    3. orbital
  2. interplanetary; Einsteinian physics; dependent on celestial mechanics/Orbital mechanics, gravity, and energy budget; able to employ gravity well assisted flight to augment energy budget; or ride on gravity highways
  3. interstellar; Einsteinian physics; independent of celestial mechanics; dependent on propulsion/power only.
  4. interstellar; FTL; independent of celestial mechanics; dependent on propulsion/power only.
  5. intergalactic; Hyper-FTL/slipstream; dependent on power only.
  6. intercosmic; transwarp; dependent on power only.
